About Jeff
Whatever your musical goals may be, whether it's to learn and expand your theory knowledge, possess a toolbox of practical approaches to improvisation, learn the key to becoming a better reader in any style, or play your first note, I'm here with the tools and experience to help. In addition to being an active performer in nationally touring bands and a studio musician for GRAMMY artists, I have over two decades teaching beginning saxophone up through teaching as a college professor. Together we can chart a course to reach your goals and appreciate the journey. To hear some of my playing, please check out some of my work with personal projects, like The Valley Moonstompers (Jamaican Ska/Reggae/Dub), Miss Fairchild (R&B, Soul), and past projects like The Primate Fiasco (Brasstronica/Americana). You can also hear some of my studio work playing a wide range of woodwinds on the Tyrese Gibson album "Beautiful Pain", and Dan Gable's Orchestra. With professional experience in a wide range of styles, including classical saxophone which I will be including here soon, I look forward to helping you with whatever music you're most inspired by!

I often tell my students to come as they are. Which is to say, however you show up is the perfect starting point for our work together. Wherever you are right now is the launching point to assess areas you'd like to grow, any aspects that are creating challenges, and look to new possibilities. I make sure there is time in each lesson for a lot of playing as well. While instruction in intellectual knowledge is essential, it is in the application of this knowledge that we see it all come alive. There is ample time for any questions for clarification as well, along with personalized pdfs to work from as well.
