About Alex
My name is Alex and I'm a Chemical Engineering student studying at UWA. I have a love for learning and teaching. I've had a strong passion for science, math and technology all my life and I'd love to share my knowledge with curious minds who want to develop their skills, further their education or learn something new. I studied Chemistry, Physics, Math Methods and Math Specialist ATARs and achieved a 95 ATAR alongside a Certificate III in Information Technology. I've had diverse experiences in leadership, debating, sports, music and personal projects which I take with me to always encourage me to do my best and support others.

I believe that true comprehension comes from understanding why something works rather than memorising sentences and algorithms. That's why I like to teach interactively and enthusiastically while elaborating on my thinking instead of mindlessly writing formulae. My goal is to help encourage students to be an expert problem solver and enjoy learning just as much as I do.
I'm very adaptive and can alter my teaching style to suit the needs of different students. I have experience in leadership roles which has given me the opportunity to work with various types of people, gain experience and explore other people's perspectives. Therefore I am able to tailor my 30-minute to 1-hour lessons to the majority of young students.

Perfect! I would highly recommend Alex to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, patient and encouraging tutor. Alex made a very complex topic for my daughter easy to understand by breaking it down step-by-step. He also was very good at tailoring the lessons to my daughters' specific needs. Alex is a very talented teacher. With only a few tutoring sessions, he significantly improved my son’s maths skills—taking him from below-average to above-average in a very short time. He also makes sure my child truly understands what he is teaching, and he is always willing to go the extra mile. I highly recommend him.
