About Jay
I have been teaching the SAT and ACT for over 16 years. I have worked for major test prep companies and I've created two separate,successful tutoring companies entirely on my own, based 100% off of word of mouth referrals.
That's not because I know how to do Math and Reading. I do. I promise. If I couldn't do the problems at this point in my career, we would have some major issues on our hands. But, really, it's because I get along VERY well with high school students.
Not many people last long enough in test prep for it be a career, but I connect better with this than I do with anything else. I've seen it all. Many will promise a "customized" lesson plan, but few can deliver that in the way I can.
I'm essentially the Michael Jordan of the SAT and ACT. So, the lamest Michael Jordan of all time. But, still.

I have taught from every manual and test prep book on Earth. The best material, I have found, is the actual test. So, that's mostly what I teach from.
I teach entirely organically. I don't have a rigid lesson plan. I have been doing this long enough to be able to adapt on the fly and create the lesson around the student's specific deficiencies.
I've also been told I'm funny. I don't know if that's funny for an SAT and ACT tutor, or actually funny. Either way, I'll take it.
