About Rachel
I have been professionally tutoring for six years now, working with a variety of students from all sorts of backgrounds. Whether you struggle academically because of ADHD, or you need to be taught in a different or unconventional way, I have successfully inspired progress in even the most discouraged students. I am patient, and I base my methods on what you need most. Whatever the problem may be, together we will solve it.

When I teach someone, I like to get a sense of how they learn best before beginning my approach. I've worked with a myriad of students who all learn differently and at different paces, and no approach to tutoring is one-size-fits-all. Some are more visual learners, some learn best with recall and mnemonic devices, and some need a more hands-on approach to grasp material. No matter the style, I am confident that I can get you were you need to be academically.
I don't follow a typical lesson plan, and the way I break up material depends on how much I know my student is going to be able to fully absorb. If you're someone who learns slower and needs more breaks, I am able to accommodate that, and if you learn very quickly, I curate a lesson that flows together but covers a lot of ground.
What makes me a successful tutor is my ability to adapt to my students' academic needs, while also being mindful of certain deadlines they may need to meet. As I've stated, there is no one-size-fits-all approach, and I like to really get to know my students, creating an encouraging and patient environment that promotes a desire to grow and overcome academic obstacles.
My skillset lies more in the K-12 range, but I am also qualified to proofread and workshop essays with college students.
