About Sydney
I'm a second-year student at Augusta University, getting my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a Minor in International Studies. I initially came to AU as a Cell and Molecular Biology Major, but I took an "Introduction to Anthropology" course in my first semester and absolutely fell in love with it. So, I changed my major and added a Minor in International Studies because I love studying the world. There are definitely times in school when I think, "How come everyone else can do this easily, but I'm struggling?" I also used to think it was dumb to ask for help, but I was ABSOLUTELY wrong about that one. So, being in college, I also use tutoring services for my classes, I ask for help, and I use the available resources. I make sure to let myself know that it's okay to ask and it's okay to need help.

I work on deconstructing paragraphs, sentences, and even words before we try to process them as a whole when reading. Getting a good understanding of where you're at initially will also help us keep moving! Our end goal is always to get you to feel comfortable while reading fluidly or writing to the best of your ability.
As a tutor, I like to look at the big picture and put myself in your shoes because I've been there before! After we take care of the bigger things, I like to touch up the details and then... BOOM! You've read a whole book ;)
Typically, I'm looking for those in grade levels 2-12 to help with reading, but I can consider lower levels. Regarding proofreading, I only take MLA, APA, and Chicago Style writing up to ~25 pages.
