Second year music university student, teach clarinet and saxophone to all levels. I am down-to-earth and happy to help anyone and everyone improve.

To provide some context, I am an intermediate clarinet player (RCM 7 ish, but no official testing done), and I took lessons with Sebastian purely out of enjoyment for music. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Sebastian. His ability to explain more difficult concepts such as tone helped me to understand what I needed to do to work on these topics, and he was very flexible with lesson plans which allowed me to dive deeper into concepts/pieces I was interested in. Additionally, I appreciated being able to choose whether or not I wanted to work on pieces he recommended, as he always had backups just in case one particular piece was not to my taste. Finally, I enjoyed how understanding he was, as there were some weeks where I could not practice much due to school, and he was super cool about understanding that life happens. I would recommend him to those looking to improve their musicianship while having fun in the process.

I’m an intermediate classical guitar player, and had the opportunity to perform with Sebastian a few years back at a local talent show. He was phenomenal, and practicing with him in the months leading up to it are fond memories of mine. As someone who doesn’t have a trained ear or a good understanding of music theory, his help was invaluable in planning the performance. Also, his prior performing experience gave him a great confidence. I hope that your experience with him is as good as mine had been!

Seb has worked with my beginner clarinet students at David Thompson Secondary, and continues to do so. Seb is a great teacher. He really knows his stuff and loves to share his knowledge, skills, and passion for the clarinet. Seb gets straight to the point of what he is teaching, but he is also patient and fun to learn with.
