About Dave
I have been involved in Cyber Security for over a decade in a variety of different industries as well as Government. I hold a Masters' Degree in Advanced Security and Digital Forensics. I have several Certificates recognized in industry as being from leading providers. Having gone through both first hand experience of Cyber security and higher level education I bring my students a wealth of knowledge from both areas.

1hr lessons form part of an 8 part series which aims at taking a beginner to Intermediate standard. Lesson content:
1. Introduction - overview of course. Discuss types of cyber attacks and case studies.
2. Administrators' role in defending the network - Windows Domain best practices, auditing , AV technologies , logging , backups and MFA.
3. Network security - hardening routers, switches. Discuss types of network attacks: sniffing, spoofing DDOS etc..
4. Incident Response - discuss different response models, Defenders' toolkit when responding to a cyber incident.
5. Incident Response - demonstration and tabletop exercise.
6. Malware Analysis -stages of static, dynamic and reverse engineering. Discuss procedure to handle malware in a safe environment.
7. Attacker Tools, Tactics and Procedures - discuss typical stages of a cyber attack and different tools and techniques encountered.
8 . Wrap up / next steps - discuss career paths available, look at courses to gain industry recognized certificates. Resume writing tips to attract recruiters.
