Damian and I met through the publishing world and our mutual contacts there in 2017.

I knew he'd been a tutor in previous jobs, so I asked him to set me a brief for my own personal art practise once I went freelance. The work he set me to do was very clearly laid out, professional and concise, and he encouraged me to think about my work in new ways I hadn't considered before.

As a result, I produced work that I would not have been able to devise on my own, and tried new techniques I'd not yet explored. The project, although small, changed my thinking and I was able to push outside the boundaries of how I normally create. I felt inspired and encouraged!
