About Nicole
I am originally from Colombia, my first language being Spanish, and although I went through many hardships, in my first year of being in the United States I took the STAAR (also known as the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness) and passed with a score higher than the district had ever seen. I know all about the struggles that come with learning, fear of others' opinions, and the frustration that comes with not understanding something so I want to be someone you can count on to lift you up without fear and frustration. As a senior in highschool, I know all about putting hard work, love and patience into projects and I want to help other students implement their own values and strategies that will help them succeed on their own in the future.

As an older sister and former tutor, for about 3 years, I know all about the overwhelming difficulties that children can have when learning new topics and that is why I'm here to help. I am an extremely communicative and patient person, letting my students know they are in a safe space where they can ask questions without fear. I'm willing to put the effort towards getting to know students and seeing which kind of learning methods work best for them as well as letting them know how to apply these methods by themselves for future success. A typical lesson plan for me would start out with seeing what kinds of classwork students need help with, and then setting strategies forward that helped me and see if they could help students. As I get to see who a student is I can suggest different study methods and learning strategies that would most benefit the student.

Nicole has always been the brightest kid bringing positivity wherever she goes. She tutored my 4th grade son as well as many others in our neighborhood. He was frustrated and falling behind on many subjects but her enthusiastic energy and amazing help has helped him succeed to so many levels. He is now in 6th grade and using all the tricks she taught him!
Nicole is so reliable, friendly and patient as she demonstrated all of her skills tutoring my kids. Both of my kids, who are in 3rd and 5th grade were struggling in school, recalling topics and comprehending the material. Nicole always came with a bright smile and helped my kids patiently giving them tips with remembering and strategies to read material and remember the material. My kids now in 5th and 7th are doing so much better in school, succeeding with the strategies she taught them. I am so thankful for Nicole’s professionalism and kindness while tutoring!
