About Lila
I am a vocal instructor with seven years of experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, majoring in Voice. My teaching approach integrates multiple styles including Classical, Pop, Rock, and Country, allowing students to explore a wide range of musical expression. I focus on building strong fundamentals in ear training, harmony, and music theory to support confident and versatile singing.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual, ensuring that learners at any stage—from beginner to advanced—can develop their vocal ability and overall musicianship. I emphasize healthy technique, breath control, and tone quality while encouraging personal expression and stylistic interpretation. Students engage in practical exercises, repertoire work, and performance preparation to strengthen both skill and confidence.
I also integrate creative exercises such as improvisation and phrasing exploration to help students discover their unique voice. Lessons are dynamic, combining structured training with interactive and engaging activities that make learning enjoyable. My goal is to nurture not only technical skill but also musical intuition and artistic growth.
I have successfully guided students in achieving performance goals, exam preparation, and ensemble participation. I am dedicated to creating a supportive and inspiring environment where each learner can flourish. For The Advanced Teen, I focus on refining vocal control, pitch accuracy, and emotional expression. We explore advanced techniques like dynamic phrasing, runs, and stylistic nuances to enhance musicality. I encourage experimenting with different genres, helping them adapt their voice confidently across pop, jazz, and contemporary styles.
For The Quartet Player, the emphasis is on blend, harmony, and timing within an ensemble. We work on balancing individual voices while maintaining clarity and emotional connection in group performance. Exercises include interval training, harmonization drills, and synchronized breathing for cohesive sound.
Both personas develop vocal flexibility through scales, arpeggios, and creative improvisation exercises. I integrate DAWs, vocal apps, and metronomes to track pitch, timing, and progress efficiently. Lessons include recording sessions, playback review, and self-assessment to build awareness and confidence.
I also emphasize stage presence, expressive storytelling, and interpreting lyrics authentically. Students learn to adapt songs to their vocal strengths and artistic intent. Each session is practical, goal-oriented, and motivating, making progress measurable and enjoyable.
Above all, I foster a safe and encouraging environment where experimentation and risk-taking are celebrated. By combining technical mastery with creative exploration, students grow as versatile and expressive singers ready for solo or ensemble success.
