About Debbie
A previous Head of Physics, I have been a Physics teacher for over 30 years, working at a range of state and independent secondary schools. I have experience of all major exam boards at GCSE (including international) and A Level and preparing students for Oxbridge entry.
Recently retired early, I enjoy offering high class bespoke tuition. A specialist in study techniques and exam preparation, I am up to date with current theories on learning and am used to supporting neuro-diverse students and those with other needs.
I aim to make lessons enjoyable and for every student to leave feeling more positive about themselves and their skills.
I have an enhanced DBS, and a level 5 coaching qualification. Alongside an enthusiasm for Physics, I was a senior pastoral lead so I understand how learning and exam performance are influenced by holistic issues.

As an experienced teacher, I offer high class bespoke Physics tuition to GCSE and A Level. This is through individualised, interesting lessons using a wide range of resources and a variety of approaches. Lessons are syllabus specific and target those weaker areas that are in need of most attention.
I am encouraging, approachable and supportive, aiming to make lessons enjoyable and for every student to leave feeling more positive about themselves and their skills. No tutor can guarantee exam success but my record of achieving excellent examination results in highly academic schools speaks for itself. My specialism is taking the under-performing or under- confident learner to give of their best.
Lessons are online or can be arranged face to face for students local to my home. I mainly use Microsoft Teams and Onenote, but am competent with other delivery mechanisms. They are usually weekly and an hour long, with flexibility to do more in school holidays.
