About Joshua
I’ve been a dedicated teacher for more than 13 years. Teaching has never just been a job for me—it’s a calling. I find real fulfillment in helping others learn, grow, and gain confidence in themselves. Over the years, I’ve worked with students of all ages and backgrounds, and I’ve learned that every student brings something unique to the classroom.
I’ve been passionate about chess for some years. What started as a hobby quickly became a deep interest in strategy, critical thinking, and the mental discipline the game encourages. Chess has been a long-time personal interest of mine, and I see it as more than just a game—it’s a powerful educational tool. It teaches focus, patience, decision-making, and strategic thinking.
I’m passionate about combining my love for teaching with my love for chess, and I believe it’s an excellent way to engage students while building valuable life skills. Teaching chess allows me to continue doing what I love: guiding others, challenging minds, and watching students discover their own strengths

"The beauty of chess lies in its simplicity and complexity, just like life. There are emotions, victories, and setbacks, but the greatest lesson is to enjoy the game while it lasts." Aside from the fundamentals of opening principles, developing chess pieces, controlling the center, king safety, and understanding pawn structure, I teach lessons that go far beyond the board. Though the safety and educative culture I have inculcated in my teaching career has made me a standard in chess education, I also believe learning should be fun, and my students regularly report that they enjoy my lessons thoroughly.
