About Bintou
Hi there! My name is Bintou.
I’m a friendly and enthusiastic tutor with a genuine passion for learning and I believe in the power of education. I have personal special interests in physics, chemistry, science and mathematics but I'm 100% open to teaching any subjects. I truly believe every student is capable of improvement so don't worry about your current position. If you pick me to be your tutor I'll explain hard topics thoroughly until you understand them and divulge my secret top tips on how to smash your exams. I would like to become a tutor because I'd like to help another person succeed and feel proud of themselves at the end of Year 11 so they can kick off a great summer!
Outside of school I'm quite a normal girl I enjoy gaming mainly choice based games, editing and I'm a fan of music (kpop, folk, rock, britpop, indie, emo rap and bedroom pop).

My lessons are fun, engaging and very focused on getting clean results.
You can expect a typical lesson to last around 60 minutes. I'll clearly explain any topic/s before we jump into exam-style questions of which I'll make sure I know the correct exam technique needed for you to gain the most marks. Also, we'll make flashcards along the way of anything that's struggling to stick. My lessons will be an open, non-judgemental space so don't be afraid to ask any questions! At the end of the lesson I'll set a small piece of work which we'll mark together at the start of the next session. In the run up to your exams I'll be there every step of the way and we'll go through the specification together and fill in any gaps in your knowledge and I'll explain every formula on the formula sheet and give my final best tips that helped me achieve all 8's and 9's. We will work together to ensure you are very comfortable and ready for your exams.
While I don't have much formal experience you can take a chance on me because currently, at Sixth Form College I am doing paired reading with a Year 7 student and helping him improve his reading skills which is quite enjoyable. Also, I recently mentored a Year 11 pupil before their exam season and helped him navigate the upcoming exam season. As a former Year 11 Prefect and former Student Council member in secondary school I supervised students during breaks and regularly helped younger students improve their Maths through Sparx Maths. Also, during my own exam season I helped my peers before exams.
My lessons are for GCSE Students in either Year 10 or 11 and the level is not important because I believe everyone can achieve their goals whether that's just to pass because you hate physics or striving for all 7,8 and 9's!
