About Shamser
I enjoy it. Particularly with engaged students who take the trouble to seek out a tutor and want to learn. Additionally, I always learn something from students too. This is whether I am teaching students studying for their PhD's, Masters, Undergraduate or A-levels. My approach is generally quite creative as I am also a professional playwright with a number of plays and tours behind me. I find that helps me craft my teaching, while my longstanding qualitative, conversational research helps me communicate with people. I have carried the benefits of that over to my teaching too.

My approach puts the student at the centre fitting around your needs and learning styles. We will take what you know and are interested in and use that a springboard in to tailoring sessions to what you want to learn. In order to support your learning we will revisit and repeat concepts and themes while you learn new ones. The purpose is to provide a scaffold for your knowledge, so what you have learnt becomes concrete for you and so you can see how different concepts connect.
I am happy to support with essays, dissertations, exams and other assessments. As well as having a depth of experience across different subjects, I am well used to supporting across a breadth of assessments such as presentations, videos and briefing papers and so on.
For students who want regular lessons throughout the academic year, I practice a simple technique that has a proven record of elevating students' grades
