About Hugo

I’m a working software engineer with a First Class Computer Science degree from Queen Mary University of London, and I got AAA at A-Level in Maths, Computer Science and Economics. I use maths and programming every day at work, so I can show students how the topics apply in real jobs, not just how to pass the exam.

My teaching focuses on breaking exam questions into clear steps, so you can tackle ones you’ve never seen before. We work through exam questions together in lessons so you get familiar with the format and learn to handle the pressure on the day. I also know what universities and employers expect, so I can help you prepare for a degree, apprenticeship or tech career.

About the lesson

Your first session includes an extra 30 minutes free, so we can check we’re a good match before you commit.

How lessons work (60-180 mins)

1. Quick recap questions on previous topics to check understanding.
2. We walk through the new topic and break down the key concepts and techniques.
3. We work through exam-style questions together, step by step.
4. You try exam questions on your own under exam conditions, so you get used to the format and the pressure.
5. Review mistakes, fix gaps in understanding and agree what to focus on next.

Fortnightly test: a short test each week to track your performance and identify weaknesses, so lessons target what you need most.
