About Anushreya
Hello! I'm Anushreya, but you can call me Anu. While I’m relatively new to formal tutoring, my extensive experience in volunteering with community organizations and advocating for youth has helped me develop strong communication and teaching skills. I’ve worked with a diverse range of people from various backgrounds, which has given me a deep understanding of how to approach learning in a supportive, inclusive, and empathetic way.
As a member of the Minister's Youth Council for Education in Alberta, I’ve advocated for youth-focused policies and education improvements, honing my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. Additionally, my **research experience**, particularly in fields like child development and mental health, has strengthened my ability to break down challenging concepts and explain them in simple, relatable terms.

As a tutor, my approach focuses on active learning and conceptual understanding. I aim to break down complex ideas into simpler parts, using clear explanations, visual aids, and real-world examples to ensure deep understanding. I emphasize interactive dialogue, asking guiding questions to encourage critical thinking, and provide continuous feedback to help students grow.
my typical lesson plan would include:
- Warm-up (5-10 min): Review previous material.
- Introduction (15-20 min): Present new concepts with examples.
- Guided Practice (15-20 min): Solve problems together.
- Independent Practice (10-15 min): Student works on their own.
- Wrap-up (5-10 min): Summarize key points and set tasks for next time.
