About Aliyah
I am a freelance singer based in Cape Town, South Africa. I have a degree in Jazz Performance from the South African College of Music. As a musician I have performed in varying setups; solo, duo, and with a band, as well as settings; weddings, conferences, concerts, bars, eisteddfods, and of course my own shows.
Although I haven't specialised in teaching, teaching methods and their practical application were part of my studies. Aside from my studies, I have tutored students at university level as well as children in both primary and high school.
I believe that my experience as a performer is valuable to students who wish to do the same. Learning the ins and outs of live performance can be daunting and having a mentor is always helpful.

I offer in-person and online lessons in English. Our initial couple lessons always include an unintrusive diagnosis of your abilities and "problem" areas - this allows me to provide a personalised plan that works for you. I believe practice makes perfect, so outside of lessons I expect you to be putting in the time to reach your goals!
My lessons are all about creating a solid foundation - this means a lot of repetition - to ensure healthy and robust singing that builds your confidence as a performer. Whether you want to become the best shower singer or perform in front of massive audiences, I will help you get there!
I typically work with beginners and intermediate students of any age.
