My name is Olive, a recent MA graduate of Durham University with over 4 years of experience in tutoring and teaching. Helping students to achieve their personal goals is a huge motivator for me; it's a sign of your hard work and dedication over the year that you've worked so hard to achieve.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, painting and cooking; I'm currently in the process of attempting to write my first book.

My approach centres around making the exam specification accessible and approachable. What does the examiner really want from you? How do I write the best essay answer? How should I revise to hit my goals? Whatever your academic needs, I will help you to access the skillset required to get there. With personalised lessons everytime, based on your feedback and progress, you're always at the centre of your own learning.
Whether you're looking to achieve the best grades on the board, boost your current results or resit an examination, I have the support structure to help you achieve your goal. I teach English Literature up to A level on all major UK exam boards (Edexcel, AQA, OCR).
My lessons are typically 55 minutes of learning time, with 5 minutes to reflect on our lesson's progress and select the learning for the following session (1 hour total). I am happy to consider double sessions for students who may require this, or other methods of flexible learning upon request.
I have over 4 years of experience teaching and tutoring, both online and in UK schools, with a track record of helping students less confident in their academic ability to access the self belief and hone their skills in order to achieve their goals.

Details
My lessons are 1 hour each (55 mins learning time, 5 mins reflection time), and rates include my preparation time for each session, prepared individually for each learner. You will be studying from both your exam board resources, but also additional resources provided by myself, including additional textbooks, primary sources and exam content, to ensure your full engagement and enrichment. I also provide a revision resource pack for students looking for extra material to assist with content learning in their own time, free of charge for all English Literature students.
I hold 2 History degrees from Durham University (BA and MA) and have over 4 years of tutoring experience for students aged 11-18, including those with SEND requirements.
