About Andrea

Learning English is more than memorizing grammar — it’s about building confidence and communicating naturally.

I studied English at the Canadian Alliance and Colombo Americano, two recognized English institutions. I’ve also lived and worked in English-speaking environments, which helped me develop strong fluency and communication skills.

As a coach, I support learners with empathy, structure, and practical strategies that help them feel more confident and express themselves naturally in English.

My lessons are designed to help students stop overthinking and start speaking English more naturally and confidently in real-life situations.

I combine conversation practice, pronunciation support, vocabulary building, and personalized feedback to create engaging lessons adapted to each student’s goals, personality, and learning style.

Students also get access to my English Chat Community — a relaxed conversational space where they can practice English with other learners, improve fluency, and gain more confidence speaking naturally.

My goal is to make students feel comfortable, motivated, and capable of expressing themselves clearly in English.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed an interest in English through real-life communication and personal growth. Over time, I realized how powerful English can be, not only for work opportunities, but also for confidence, independence, and connecting with people from different cultures.

My interest in private tutoring started naturally when I began helping people around me practice speaking English and feel more comfortable expressing themselves. I discovered that I genuinely enjoy guiding students and seeing their progress little by little.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach practical English focused on real communication. I especially enjoy helping students improve their speaking confidence, pronunciation, vocabulary, and natural conversation skills.

I like discussing topics connected to everyday life, work, culture, travel, personal growth, mindset, and real-world situations because students tend to learn faster when conversations feel authentic and useful.

I try to make grammar practical instead of overly theoretical. My goal is always to help students actually use English in real situations, not just memorize rules.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, I’ve always admired teachers who create a comfortable environment where students feel safe making mistakes and practicing without fear.

The teachers who inspired me the most were not necessarily the strictest ones, but the ones who made learning feel natural, motivating, and interactive. That is the kind of teacher I aim to be with my students.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

I believe a good tutor needs patience, empathy, communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to truly listen to students.

Every student learns differently, so a tutor should know how to adjust lessons depending on the student’s personality, goals, and learning style. Creating confidence is just as important as teaching grammar or vocabulary.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One of the most rewarding experiences for me has been seeing students go from being afraid to speak English to having full conversations with confidence.

I remember one student who was extremely nervous during our first class and apologized constantly for making mistakes. After several sessions focused on real conversation and confidence-building, the student became much more comfortable speaking naturally. Moments like that remind me why I enjoy teaching so much.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

One challenge I understand very well is the fear of speaking and making mistakes. Many students feel pressure to sound “perfect,” which often blocks their progress.

I’ve learned that consistency, exposure, and confidence matter more than perfection. Language learning is a process, and mistakes are part of growth.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I’m passionate about communication and personal growth. I enjoy helping people become more confident and express themselves better through language.

I also love cultural exchange and meaningful conversations, which is one of the reasons I enjoy teaching English so much.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?

I believe what makes me a Superprof is my ability to create a comfortable, motivating, and personalized learning environment.

I focus on helping students feel confident speaking English in real life, not just during class. My lessons are practical, conversational, and adapted to each student’s goals and personality.

I genuinely care about my students’ progress and try to make every class engaging, supportive, and useful.
