Special Intensive GCSE and A-Level Art Portfolio Review and Action Planning Sessions

My name is Ingrid Davies .How i met Lewis Chapman - the most incredible art teacher.
In 2021 I decided to get back into art. I had not done any painting for at least 30 years.
I joined Lewis Chapman's online Secret Sketch Party. This was the best decision I had made in a long time. Lewis is a wonderful artist and teacher . He has a way of guiding his students to explore, thereby giving us the most wonderful self confidence. His love of his craft comes through his teaching. The best part is..... he does not dictate. He helps you to learn to look at things like an artist.
I joined his first group of Accelorated art students.... what an experience that was.
I decided I wanted to do portraiture. Well 3 years later I can honestly say I am a portrait artist. I draw and paint every single day if I can. I love what I am doing.
This is thanks to this incredible man. Lewis I thank you. I now have over 900 paintings/ drawings that I have done.
This is 3 years from when I thought " I will do this to keep bust in my retirement". Boy.... am I busy!!!

Lewis is a very kind, incredibly patient and intuitive tutor. He teaches a step-by-step approach and will listen and respond to your needs and experience. I highly recommend Lewis, he is an excellent and very trustworthy and reliable tutor.

Lewis is a fantastic artist and a great teacher. He explains drawing and painting techniques in a clear way that's easy to follow.
Through his online art classes, Lewis has pushed me beyond my limits and I've created artwork that's way outside my comfort zone, and that I'd never thought would be possible.
He's also a really lovely person.

I have sketched with Lewis for over three years as a member of his Secret Sketch Party. He is passionate about helping people to realise they can be creative and he is very talented at guiding people so that they learn new techniques and also develop their own style. Lewis is calm, cheerful, encouraging and very knowledgeable. He is a talented artist himself and he is very professional. I highly recommend him.

Lewis is an excellent at teacher, extremely knowledgeable. I have been a member of his art membership for around 3 years and have progressed so much. Lewis is a very patient and caring person and I think anyone would be lucky to have him as their teacher.

Lewis is an amazing person, who during the lockdown was a beacon of bright light that we didn't know we needed. He offered free sketching classes for all levels and abilities and came up week after week with innovative and exciting sketches. I now have such a vast portfolio of work to show off to family and friends and have even had some commissions. I would highly recommend Lewis, for his kind and compassionate nature, attention to details and the patience to get absolutely everyone to draw something that they are proud of.

Lewis has given me the ability to improve my skills a lot. He is very patient and encouraging. Thanks to his knowledge and teaching I have learnt a lot.

I first became acquainted with Lewis when I joined the ‘Secret Sketch Party’ in 2020. His passion for teaching shone through immediately making learning an enjoyable experience, encouraging students at various skill levels to apply creative thinking when mastering art under his guidance and expertise. I was amazed how quickly I was producing art to a high level. A very inspirational and knowledgeable tutor. Before long, I progressed to the ‘Original Art Accelerator Program’ where I learnt how to apply my own values when creating art. Virtual exhibitions are held twice a year and are positive exciting experiences.

On a personal level, this experience has had a profound effect on my life what with health challenges to manage. Lewis has instilled belief, and confidence in me. His commitment to my artistic journey has made a lasting impact and for that I am forever grateful and for the positive changes this has had on my life with new given hope and an amazing reason for living..
