About Laura
I am a successful stage&screen actor with over 20 years' professional experience including lead roles in the West End, commercials, and numerous films, including several feature films. I love empowering aspiring actors to develop their unique talents with my experienced, creative and collaborative approach.
I acted in my first film at 17, and worked in acting projects and theatre productions throughout my teens. After completing my degree, I performed in a show at the Edinburgh Fringe and then decided to audition for drama school. I trained at two top drama schools: Arts Educational School London (Foundation year) and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts (Postgraduate Diploma).
At Mountview I trained with the legendary voice coach, Rick Lipton, who worked on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and other high-level film projects. Once I entered the profession I realised the value of this training and was inspired to become a voice coach for fellow actors who needed specific help with strengthening their voice, learning accents or improving pronunciation and articulation.
Alongside my acting and voice work, I've taught drama to children and young people in schools, leading after school drama clubs in both primary and secondary schools, and as a LAMDA drama teacher. I worked at in a South London secondary school (Ark Academies) with students in years 7-10 and 12, helping them gain the skills and confidence necessary to complete LAMDA exams.
I also have over 15 years experience working 1:2:1 with children with disabilities, speech and language difficulties and developmental conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia and Autism. I warmly welcome children and adults with SEN and believe that acting is a wonderful way to build communication skills and confidence for anyone of any age or ability.
Since drama school I have continued to train and develop professionally, alongside my professional work, completing intensive method acting training in both Strasberg and Meisner technique (16 months).
I am also a budding filmmaker and have worked on many independent short films as a assistant director and production manager. I have recently written, produced and directed my own short film.
I am passionate, above all, in ensuring all those I work with have the skills, knowledge and confidence to shine in their performances.
