About Marko

I'm a Statistics and Research Methodology lecturer at a private university, and I teach Business and Data Analysis to MBA students at a public university. I hold a Master's in Research Psychology and have spent 11 years in market research, including heading the South African Customer Satisfaction Index (SA-CSI).

My career has been built on turning data into decisions. I've designed studies, analysed large datasets and presented findings to business leaders who needed clear, practical answers. That experience shapes how I teach: statistics isn't just a subject to pass, it's a skill you'll use long after university.

I enjoy teaching because I've seen how many capable students lose confidence when they reach statistics. Often the problem isn't ability, it's that the subject was taught as rules to follow rather than ideas to understand. Seeing a student move from "I just copied the output" to explaining their results with confidence is what I find most rewarding.

About the lesson

Every lesson starts with where you are, not with a textbook. Before we begin, I'll ask what you're working on, what's confusing you and what you need to deliver, whether that's an exam, an assignment or a thesis chapter. From there, each session is built around your actual material.

I teach statistics the way it's used in the real world. Instead of abstract formulae, we work through practical examples from market research and business, so you can see why a test is used, what the output is telling you and how to explain it in plain language. The aim is understanding, not memorisation.

For Honours and Master's students, I can guide you through the full quantitative process: choosing the right analysis, checking assumptions, running it in SPSS, R or Excel, and interpreting and writing up your results. You'll do the work with my guidance, so you can confidently defend your findings to your supervisor or examiner.

Lessons are patient, structured and paced to suit you, whether you're a first-year student struggling with the basics or a postgraduate finalising a dissertation. My goal is for you to leave each session more confident and fully in control of your own analysis.
