About Sandy
As a STEM tutor for the past 7 years, my focus is on teaching the course materials to the student rather than just helping with homework completion or "study" for a test.
In each math topic and I teach the vocabulary, formulas and step by step approach to solving the problems. The focus is on content, making sure the student understands the concepts along with practice.
I teach K-12 students (over 200 alumni) all over the United States. I offer Math, English, PSAT, SAT & ACT prep classes. The College Prep classes cover college essay, personal statements, and college admissions.

I customize my classes to each student's needs, so I interview the student and parent to understand the student's learning objectives and current academic load. We also discuss the student's academic objectives beyond this class.
We discuss the student's preferred learning method and any challenges they face. We review the current status of their learning (by relevant topic).
Based on the interview the student will be taught on level, honors, or AP.
