About Porkodi
Hello students,
I’m Porkodi Elangovan, and I have completed my Master’s in English Literature in 2025. I am currently working as an IB PYP Homeroom Teacher at The Hillridge International School, India.
English is not just a subject for me—it is a skill that opens doors to confidence, creativity, and clear thinking. In my classes, English is taught in all the ways students truly need to improve: reading with understanding, strong comprehension, correct grammar usage, effective writing, confident speaking, and a deeper appreciation of poetry and literature.
I believe every student can improve their English when they are guided the right way. My teaching focuses on building concepts step by step, helping students understand why language works the way it does, rather than memorizing rules. I use simple explanations, real-life examples, discussions, and guided practice to suit each learner’s level.
My goal is to help students:
Read fluently and comprehend confidently
Express their ideas clearly in speech and writing
Understand grammar naturally and apply it correctly
Appreciate poetry and literature with deeper meaning
Grow in confidence while using English in everyday life
I teach because I truly enjoy watching students grow from hesitation to confidence. I believe learning English should feel engaging, supportive, and meaningful—and that is exactly the environment I strive to create in every online class.
