About Grant
I am an educator with 28 years experience in the areas of science and math. I currently teach new teachers but I love tutoring middle and high school students in science and math too! I have a B.Sc. in physics and math, a B.Ed. in science education, a M.Ed. in school administration, and a Ed.D in science and math education. I am a life long learner who is passionate about helping students figure out science and math!

I like to start by finding out about you as the learner - what you like, what motivates you, and what you have difficulties with. Then we look at what it is you need to learn, what you know about it already, and what you might be having troubles with. I like to engage my students in a lot of conversations about the topics we are learning in science and math so they can truly understand the ideas instead of just memorizing things. I use a lot of real-life examples and I love using analogies, diagrams, and even acting things out to help make sense of difficult concepts. What inspires me most is seeing my students learning and improving with each session!
