About Anthony
Something strange happened to me in 5th grade. A teacher held an assembly, playing all sorts of instruments—most I’d never even seen before. Up until this moment I had no interests, but somehow, her performance spoke to me. This started my lifelong journey as a musician. At 13, I picked up the guitar. I listened to a lot of shredding metal music. I learned Avenged Sevenfold, started a band, did shows all over California, started more bands and eventually found my way into the Music Education program at Sacramento State. It's been an incredible journey filled with rewarding, terrifying, and profound experiences, and I'm excited to share what I've learned with you.

Whether you're already shredding Polyphia, picking your way through "Blackbird" or learning what an 1/8th note is, a session with me will get you to the next level. By balancing a background in local music and classical training, I bring a perspective to my sessions unlike any other. It starts with a goal such as, "Student wants to start a band", or "Student wants to learn to read music". This student-centered approach has yielded great success, not only in learning, but in keeping the student engaged. My goal is always to find what the student loves about music, and build on that foundation, growing their passion and honing their craft.

Anthony has been super accommodating and helpful each lesson. We met at years ago while working together. Taking lessons with him has been eye-opening and a lot of fun as well. I’d recommend him anytime!
I have known Anthony for about 16yrs, we met in band class. He has taught me a lot about music since high school. He has had a passion for passing on what he knows since an early age and he’s good at it! Very patient and kind personality.
Anthony is a fantastic teacher. He’s a very friendly guy with an immense amount of music knowledge. I’ve become a much better guitar player in the time that I’ve been his student. Highly recommended.
