About Diya
I am a Junior at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Psychology with minors in Consumer Psychology and Education. I have several years of experience working as a teacher of learners aged 3 to 18 across India, China, Costa Rica, England and USA.
Most recently, I spent last year as an independent educator in India tutoring students aged 8-12 in English and Math online. I generated my own curriculum, wrote course material and engaging questions for a variety of novels. This was in addition to supplementary activities to aid the tutoring process. I created documents tailored to each student to track homework, score changes, payments and services used. I was able to help my students achieve beyond their initial expectations.
In Philadelphia I have tutored elementary school students in reading, improving their study skills and harnessing their potential and talent.
In spent 6 months in China in 2017 working at Wellington College, Shanghai as a teaching assistant and boarding house tutor. I promoted language acquisition in no-native learners (aged 2-6) through phonics instruction, reading and singing. I led my own English support group for students aged 3-5. I organised and managed enrichment activities for boarders while also mentoring students and supporting staff. For fun, I also coached football and swimming to students aged 3-7!
I spent a summer as a Youth Leader at the Cloud Forest School in Costa Rica where I coordinated classroom activities, supervised community field trips and helped native Spanish speakers improve spoken and written English.
I am passionate about learning, music and travel. Kindness, integrity and sensitivity are my core values. I am organised and dedicated to whatever my task may be.

Payment: I accept Venmo and Zelle. Payment is required to set the date and time of the session(s). The price per session is $30 but I also offer the option of a 10 session package for $270, saving you $30 and getting one session free!
Cancellation Policy: You can cancel your session up to 24 hours before the start time of the session and reschedule for free. Any cancellation after that time will not be refunded.
