About Joseph

Hello! My name is Joseph, and I’m a current medical student with over four years of tutoring experience in math, science, and standardized test preparation. I specialize in helping students master challenging concepts in subjects like algebra, biology, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology, as well as test prep for the ACT, MCAT, and USMLE Step 1 and Step 2. I bring not only academic expertise but also patience, structure, and a strong belief in the potential of every student. My goal is to make complex topics simple, build lasting understanding, and help students gain the confidence they need to succeed. I tailor every lesson to each student’s goals and learning style, ensuring sessions are engaging, supportive, and results-driven. Whether you're preparing for an important exam or looking to strengthen your foundations, I'm here to guide you every step of the way with professionalism and dedication. — Joseph

About the lesson

Students choose to work with me because I combine deep subject knowledge with a personalized, student-first approach. I take the time to understand each learner’s goals, strengths, and challenges, and then tailor every session to meet their specific needs. Whether we’re working through foundational math and science topics or preparing for high-stakes exams like the ACT, MCAT, or USMLE, I focus on building both confidence and mastery. My sessions are interactive, strategy-driven, and designed to make students feel supported and motivated. As a current MD student who’s been through these academic hurdles myself, I offer not only content expertise but real-world insight into what it takes to succeed.

My base rate is $45/hour for most 1-on-1 academic support, including high school math, biology, chemistry, and general science. For advanced test prep such as ACT Math/Science, MCAT, or USMLE Step 1/2, rates start at $60/hour due to the specialized nature of these exams. I offer discounts for bundled sessions (5+ hours) and group lessons. Rates may be negotiable depending on the subject, schedule, or long-term commitment. The first session is always free to ensure a great fit before moving forward.
