About Michelle
Hi, I am Michelle, and I am currently finishing my first year of Biomedical Science at the University of Auckland.
I hold a strong background in chemistry and physics, particularly tailored for all NCEA levels. I achieved Excellence endorsement in NCEA Level 3 Chemistry and Level 2 for Physics. My approach to tutoring focuses on understanding core concepts and practicing exam-style questions rather than rote memorisation, which I believe is key to achieving Excellence.
With two years of tutoring experience, volunteering to support Level 2 students, and working one-on-one with junior learners, I have developed a personalised teaching style that adapts to each student’s learning needs. I focus on clear explanations, organised revision notes, and targeted exam-style practice to help students feel confident and well-prepared for assessments.

At our first lesson, I would like to understand your course structure and specific needs. For every lesson, I will thoroughly go through the concepts with you and provide organized notes for you to review whenever needed. Additionally, practicing exam-style questions is a key point in achieving Excellence!
My teaching methodology focuses on understanding core concepts rather than rote memorisation. I believe grasping the overall idea before diving into the details is crucial for long-term retention and deeper comprehension. Typical lessons are about an hour long, giving us sufficient time to explore concepts thoroughly and address any questions you might have.
As a Biomed student at the University of Auckland, I have a strong background in chemistry and physics, and I am familiar in the NCEA curriculum. My experience as a voluteer tutor at college has equipped me with the skills to help students achieve Excellence in their studies.
