About Lilliana
I am a passionate pianist and teacher who believes that the piano is the ultimate instrument for musical expression. I love sharing the intricacies of the keyboard with my students and watching them unlock their musical potential. My teaching style is warm and structured, designed to make complex musical concepts easy to understand. I have a background in performance and accompaniment, which gives me a broad perspective on what it means to be a pianist.

My piano instruction focuses on building a complete musician, combining technical proficiency with a deep understanding of music theory. I prioritise the development of a relaxed, efficient hand position to ensure you can play with agility and expression without tension. From the very first lesson, we will work on reading the grand staff, ensuring that you become a literate musician capable of exploring new music independently. My lessons are balanced between technical drills—like scales and arpeggios—and the study of repertoire that excites you.
We will meticulously cover the art of interpretation, learning how to use dynamics, articulation, and phrasing to bring a piece of sheet music to life. I place a strong emphasis on rhythm and coordination, helping you master the challenge of playing different things with each hand. Through the exploration of various genres, from Bach to modern pop, we will develop your versatility and musical ear. I customise the difficulty of our pieces to ensure you are constantly challenged but never discouraged.
I am committed to supporting students through the plateau phases of learning, providing practice strategies that maximise your time at the keys. We will work on memorisation techniques and performance skills, preparing you to play for others with confidence.
