About Barbara
I am a professional tutor with over a dozen years of tutoring experience. I have worked both for a local tutoring company and as a solo private tutor. I have been providing online tutoring since 2/2018 and I absolutely love it. Online tutoring gives me the flexibility that tutoring at a library does not. I have taught math classes as an adjunct instructor for a home school group (grades 4-8), taught ACT & SAT classes for high school students, tutored ACT & SAT online and in person, and provided online math class tutoring for algebra 1, 2, geometry.

I am a visual learner and a trained board certified art therapist, so my approach is a visual one.
My students really like learning in a visual way, as we make connections between concepts and lay out visual flow charts and diagrams. My approach to the ACT and SAT tutoring is a custom focus on specific strategies and a focus on what the student is missing in the passages or math questions in front of them. One size does not fit all and one approach doesn't either. I customize to be of the most help to the student.

Details
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy: if I am notified less than 24 hours in advance of a cancellation or there is a "no show", you will be charged for that hour as I have set the time aside for you and traveled to the library (if in person).
My fee is 50./hr for academic tutoring as well as ACT and SAT tutoring whether in person or online.
