About Alexis
I am a German that was born in the US and raised in Germany by a German mother, therefore speaking both German and English fluently, as well as dabbling in some other languages. Well-traveled and always eager to learn more about languages and cultures myself, I enjoy helping others to get a better understanding of my mother tongue as best as I can.

Hello and welcome to my page! I have previously taught both German as well as English at 2 public schools in Colombia. As my focus were children age 6 to 16, I have experience teaching a variety of age groups. I approach my lessons less structured and strict, not only teaching dry grammar, but with a focus on helping you gain vocabulary, pronunciation and enabling you to hold an actual conversation. Besides my experience teaching in a public school, I have also helped a variety of Asia-based students on free language exchange websites and apps. If you tell me what your goals are and why you are studying, I will make sure to center the lessons around that. Those could be an upcoming trip, surprising a friend, simply wanting to become more fluent etc... My approach to teaching is not a fixed lesson plan. It is finding out what your current level is and teaching you based on that. I want to make learning German fun and remove the stigma that German sounds rude, harsh or aggressive. I am looking forward to getting to know and teaching you!
