About Tom
Hey! I'm Tom. I'm a mid-20's engineer who teaches Audio, Sound, and Production. I'm a Kiwi, and I love a good yarn, but more importantly, I love to teach and help people pursue their goals. I also tutored during much of my high school education across most subjects, so I've been teaching for a long time now.
I have worked across Studios in NZ and also continue to work independently as a mix engineer currently. I love to make music, mix music, and record music!

Looking to learn how to mix? Want to finally understand how to record yourself or others? Do you want to design your own basses on a thudding track? Hey, I'm Tom - and I'm your man.
I have worked as a Studio Engineer, an independent mix engineer, and a tutor for 5 years now. I also do DJ work and create music (House, Garage, and lots of Drum and Bass), incorporating much EDM production/sound design. I have worked in Logic, comfortably fluent with Pro Tools, and excel with Ableton as my main DAW.
Depending on the subject, lessons often involve a theory component (usually a PowerPoint full of helpful notes, which you can have after the lesson) and then a practical component, applying these methods in a DAW or IRL.
Typically, lessons fall into 1hr, with options to do shorter, simplified sessions at 30 mins, or extend sessions to up to 2hrs.
I can work with any level, but typically work best with people stuck in between beginner and intermediate.
