About Alanna
I have been a TEFL certified instructor for over 8 years. I have over six years of experience in the classrooms of South Korea and two years online and face-to-face tutoring experience. I have taught in Korean private and public schools.
In 2015, I packed up and moved to South Korea to teach English and have been here ever since. I met my husband that same year and we welcomed our son in 2018. He is bilingual.
My hobbies are reading romantic suspense or paranormal romance novels and working on diamond paintings to give to friends and family as gifts. My favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas.

I like to know what my students' motivations are for learning English and I tailor my lessons to acheive those goals!
I have taught beginner to advanced learners and believe everyone learns differently. Some like to read and find new vocabulary and synonyms; while others like to look at phonetics. I am happy to adjust lessons to you.
I am a patient instructor who will follow the student's lead, but will not be afraid to push a student who needs a challenge.
A typical lesson would consist of a quick review from previous lessons, some type of extra source (a TED talk, or article, or textbook), vocabulary work, free (unplanned) language discussion, and some type of light homework to help with language retention.
