About Anouk
Hello, my name is Anouk and I am a certified English teacher who loves to create a fun learning experience for all. I enjoy teaching and helping my students learn English while using fun activities.
I am from the Netherlands and I have lived in many different countries all over the world including, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Switzerland, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, and Spain. I love to travel and have been able to visit 44 different countries all over the world. I love learning about different cultures, meeting people from different parts of the world, and trying delicious food! I am also very passionate about cooking, baking, swimming, and water sport.
I am a Native English speaker with a neutral accent. I also speak Dutch (native), and French (intermediate) and I have started to learn some Spanish. I believe that being able to communicate with other people is an essential skill that opens up many new doors and teaches you a lot about other cultures.
I have had a lot of different jobs in my life one of my favorites was when I was a babysitter, I did not only look after the children but I also helped them with their homework. These children often had an international background and English was often not their first language. This experience taught me that I love to work with people and help them achieve their goals!

I want to offer my students a fun learning experience that helps them build their confidence in using the English language. I have a lot of patients as I understand how difficult it can be to learn a second language. I want to create a relaxed and personalized learning experience for all of my students.
My classes include a lot of different fun activities to help you learn grammar, spelling, vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking. I want to create an environment where you achieve and thrive!
I teach students of all ages and levels. I have a lot of experience working with children as young as 2 years old and adults of all ages. I truly believe you are never too old or young to learn a new skill!
Our classes can be anywhere between 30 minutes to 3 hours, of course, the length of our classes will depend on your learning needs.
Through my prior experiences, I got my passion for teaching and through my TEFL course, I acquired the skills to be able to give you the best lesson. I can help my students with all of the basics including; reading, listening, speaking, writing, pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. I prefer that my lessons are interactive and fun. I believe that this leads to a path of success, that will build confidence and help my students grow! I will be using videos, music, articles, games, roleplaying, activities, flashcards, and pictures, to help them learn and improve their English.
I have a lot of experience learning languages as I speak two fluent English and Dutch, my French is at an intermediate level and I have started to learn Spanish. In the future, I hope to learn many new languages. In my opinion, speaking more than one language opens your mind and brings you new opportunities. The way I see it, having the experience of learning a new language is vital as a teacher since it makes it easier to communicate with your students and you understand the pitfalls your student might face.
I have lived abroad most of my life and have full been educated in English. I graduated from the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). I obtained my TEFL certification in 2021 and I started my BA in International Business and Languages.
Previously, I have worked as a customer service representative, waitress, lifeguard, babysitter, and volunteer. Through my working experience, I have been fortunate to be able to work with many different people. I learned and perfected the art of patients, as I believe nowadays this is not always a give. However, when you give someone the time of day you can grow together.
