About T M
I T.M. Tejas, am a SERB-CII Prime minister's PhD scholar at IISER TVM, in plant genetics and centromere biology lab. Teaching in my opinion involves two things, one, being able to help the student grasp the concepts of the subject and second, training the students to develop problem-solving skills and ask the right questions. Since IISER gave me the opportunity of teaching assistantship in multiple coursework I am very comfortable teaching in a classroom setting and also have developed the necessary skills to train a student one on one. I believe my experience as a PhD scholar of being a student as well as training students in their major project as a mentor will be of great use for me and for others in this platform.

I consider teaching to be a form of helping where you help the students build a strong foundation, train their thinking capacity and ask the right questions. As a PhD student, I have the benefit of interacting with both professors and students which gives me insight into the right ways to help a student build his/her intellectual ability on that subject. The classes are usually an hour long but if necessary the timings are flexible enough to adjust to the need. I am very comfortable teaching children of any age group as long as the student is happy and enjoy learning.
