Johan is the first coach I've ever worked with, even though I've been playing tennis since I was a kid. Two years in, and the difference is huge - we've worked on everything from topspin and serve & volley to footwork, backhand, forehand, slicing and serving, and I've genuinely improved across the board. What I love most is how he explains things: he'll give you a simple memory hook, like 'give me a rainbow and a thumbs up' for topspin, and suddenly a tricky technical movement just clicks. He's got this warm, southern charm and a great sense of humour that makes every session genuinely fun, on top of being patient and incredibly detail-oriented. He always tailors the session to what I need that day, while still keeping the energy up. He even once gave me a classic tennis book with a really thoughtful handwritten note inside — that's the kind of coach he is, genuinely invested in you beyond just the hour on court. We train every Friday and I always leave having learned something, not just hit balls for an hour. Can't recommend Johan enough — best coach I could have asked for.

Johan is one of the best coaches you will ever have. He is super energetic, always teaching by example, and extremely attentive to detail. I've seen him coach other players (if I arrive early or stay a bit late), and he always gives every player the same level of care and effort, even if they're the last student of the day. He also comes to your skill level and coaches you appropriately, focussing on what's the most helpful for you. Every time I have a lesson with him I feel like I'm properly learning the game of tennis, and building a very strong base. He's not afraid to push you, and demands a lot during the lesson, but is also is very caring and understanding. Also helps that he has great humour and is always always smiling and laughing! I absolutely cannot recommend Johan more!

Marco is a great tennis coach. I am intermediate standard and he has helped me to focus on consistency, improvements in volleying and on improving serve. Marco has also worked with me to improve my tactical approach. I have helped him to coach beginners and he certainly showed an ability to adapt his style to make sessions fun and encouraging for them. Marco can also run intensive, performance-orientated sessions with ease. Most of all he is a great motivator with a genuine love for the game. I would definitely recommend him.

I’ve had a few lessons with Johan and he’s been excellent. He explains things clearly, quickly identifies what you need to improve and has already helped me make real progress with my game. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great tennis coach!

Coach Johan is by far the best coach we've ever had in our tennis journey. We tried different coaches in the past, but when we moved to London, Coach Johan was the first coach we tried, and he exceeded our expectations. Our previous coaches didn't teach much of the technicalities in tennis, how important footwork is, body coordination, the grip, ball anticipation, where to hit the ball, and everything in between.

We've improved so much with Coach Johan. He's the most patient and technical coach, the best tennis buddy, funny, and every lesson with him is so much fun.

We appreciate how he corrects us whenever our footwork is wrong, shouts "chopper grip, Marjorie!" when my grip slips, and always reminds us to stay calm and just focus on our progress.

We don't know if we'd have reached the tennis level we're at now if it weren't for Coach Johan's dedication. We know we still have a long journey ahead of us, but we also know we have the best and most caring coach with us.

Have had coaching with Mark weekly for several years. He is an amazing coach with multiple approaches and interesting drills to fix a problem.

He is also a great person, super committed, and takes a genuine interest in improving his pupils.

Would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to work on different aspects of their game, or just looking for someone to rally with.

I’ve been training with Johan for the past few months as an advanced player, and the improvement in my technique has been remarkable. He has an excellent eye for detail and explains technical adjustments in a way that makes them easy to apply on court.

Johan always brings great energy to every session, is consistently on time, and never rushes to finish if we’re working through an important point—he’ll happily stay a little longer to make sure the lesson really clicks. He’s also very responsive and easy to communicate with.

And yes, you can definitely tell he’s Spanish—the energy, passion, and enthusiasm are all part of the package ! Best coach in the Greenwich area by far !
