About Garrett
I have Bachelor's degrees in both English and Psychology. I currently teach high school ESL students in Colorado, including students with specific learning needs. I also teach adult ESL learners online for the Immigrant and Refugee Center of Northern Colorado. I'm a language learner myself (Spanish and Japanese) and understand the challenges and rewards of improving your language abilities. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy hiking, writing, and playing music.

Hello, everyone! My name is Garrett Harriman. I am a native English speaker and ESL teacher from the United States. I have Bachelor's degrees in both English and Psychology and currently teach high school ESL students in Colorado, including students with specific learning needs. I also teach adult ESL learners online for the Immigrant and Refugee Center of Northern Colorado.
My teaching philosophy is centered around language confidence and growth, not perfection. I am a very tech-minded person and believe that the best learning is relaxed, interactive, and specific to student needs and language levels. Each lesson will include opportunities to practice the four main English domains: speaking, writing, reading, and listening (SWRL skills). Collaboration and consistency are the key ingredients for progress. If you have high standards for your own learning, I am the teacher for you!
