About Mike
Professional pianist/piano teacher. Joint Founder/Director British Georgian Music Academy (London & Tbilisi). I am educated to a very high level in music: I possess a PhD and my knowledge of all areas of my subject is extremely detailed, both in academic and practical terms. This knowledge and experience is not only based on Classical Music but also on most other genres, e.g. Jazz, Pop, Musical Theatre, Folk and World Music.
From the outset of my educational career I have held managerial and leadership positions that I believe have constantly developed my understanding of all matters musical, educational and business.
I believe that I possess excellent interpersonal skills based on a lifetime of engaging in both an international performing and an educational career with equal degrees of success. I am respected as both a very organised, self-motivated, informed and fair leader as well as adapting as necessary to the needs of a team. I can give advice and yet take advice as each and every situation arises: naturally, I want to elicit the best possible responses, effort and professionalism from my team. I try to never be (or appear to be) high-handed: I feel comfortable in roles of responsibility with whomever I work.
