About Abbie

I’m Abbie Vivienne — musician, writer, and multi-passionate creative, as well as The Quirky Tutor. My love of music and creativity flows into my teaching: I see learning as an art form, not a checklist. With nearly 20 years of tutoring experience, I specialise in maths tuition ( and passively science), but my approach is anything but rigid. I use creativity, storytelling, and even musical rhythms to help students connect with tricky concepts and build real confidence. For me, tutoring is about more than grades — it’s about sparking curiosity, nurturing self-belief, and showing every student that their unique way of learning matters. I specialise in maths anxiety, not SEN, maths anxiety, students who lack confidence but are truthfully more capable than they realise. Maths is a skill that anyone can learn, with the right mindset and someone who believes in them, students can definitely achieve great things.
PS I am relatively new to Superprof.

About the lesson

With me, you’re in the driver’s seat. Every lesson is tailored to your needs, whether that’s smashing exams, boosting confidence, or making sense of tricky topics. We start with a quick check-in, then dive into the area you want to focus on, using clear step-by-step explanations, creative examples, and plenty of practice. I keep things flexible and supportive, helping you feel calm, motivated, and in control of your learning. We wrap up with a reflection and simple next step so you always leave knowing exactly what to do next. Think of me as your coach, guide, and biggest cheerleader!
