About Maribel
I am a passionate Guitar tutor with 13 years of teaching experience, and I have guided around 300 students from High School, College, and adult groups. Teaching music is something I truly enjoy because it allows me to help learners express themselves, build confidence, and develop skills that stay with them for life. I believe guitar learning should be simple, enjoyable, and tailored to each student’s needs. My teaching philosophy is built on clear communication, patience, and steady progress. I focus on the basics first—proper hand positioning, clean chord transitions, rhythm understanding, strumming patterns, and melody playing. Along with this, I introduce simple music theory so students understand how notes and chords work together. This helps them learn songs faster and eventually play independently. One of my achievements is seeing many of my students move from feeling unsure to confidently performing in school events, college competitions, and small gatherings. I have also supported learners who simply wanted a creative hobby, helping them find joy and relaxation through music. Watching their growth, week by week, is something that motivates me deeply. Each lesson I teach is designed with the student’s goals in mind. Whether they want to play soft acoustic songs, explore fingerstyle technique, or improve rhythm, I create a learning plan that matches their pace. My aim is to make guitar learning comfortable and inspiring, and to help every student feel proud of their musical progress.

My teaching approach for Guitar is built on strong communication, flexible teaching strategies, and practical examples that help students understand music in a simple and meaningful way. I always begin by talking with the student about their goals—whether they want to learn songs, understand theory, improve technique, prepare for exams, or simply enjoy playing for fun. This helps me shape lessons that match their expectations and comfort level. I introduce students to core guitar skills such as basic chords, hand position, strumming patterns, rhythm control, and smooth transitions. Once these basics are clear, we explore deeper topics like scales, fingerstyle techniques, creative improvisation, picking patterns, and genre-based styles. I use real-life examples from popular songs, classical pieces, and music performances to show how each technique works in real situations. Short case studies of well-known guitarists also help students understand how techniques are applied in creative ways. Along with Guitar, I teach related subjects like Music Theory, Ear Training, Chord Progression Design, Songwriting Basics, Rhythm Studies, and Tablature Reading. These subjects support the student’s overall musical understanding and help them become confident and expressive players. Communication plays a major role in my classes. I encourage students to share challenges and interests, and I use their responses to adjust my teaching. Visual learners get diagrams and finger charts, auditory learners receive listening tasks, and hands-on learners practise through step-by-step guidance. Each lesson includes structured practice, feedback, and clear goals for the week. My aim is to help students learn guitar in a relaxed, enjoyable, and well-supported way while growing their skills and creativity.
