About Ursula
With over seven years of teaching piano, I have guided learners of all ages, from beginners to advanced performers, helping them develop both technical skills and musical expression. My approach combines structured exercises with creative, student-focused techniques, ensuring lessons are enjoyable, motivating, and highly effective. I emphasize proper hand technique, posture, and musicality, while also integrating sight-reading, ear training, and improvisation. Lessons are adapted to the student’s goals and musical interests, allowing each learner to explore their unique style and develop a personal connection with the instrument. I create a learning environment that is encouraging, supportive, and inspiring. Students are motivated to experiment, take risks, and enjoy the process of learning. Watching learners progress from tentative playing to confident, expressive performance is the most rewarding aspect of my teaching career.

My piano lessons are designed to provide a complete and engaging learning experience for students of all levels. Each lesson begins with warm-ups focused on finger strength, dexterity, hand coordination, and proper posture, building a strong technical foundation. I incorporate scales, arpeggios, chord practice, and sight-reading exercises, ensuring students develop the technical skills necessary to play confidently and accurately.
I also integrate music theory and ear training into each session, helping students understand the structure of music and develop independent musicianship. Lessons focus on expressive interpretation, dynamics, and phrasing, so students not only play the notes but bring the music to life. Repertoire is chosen according to each student’s interests and goals, spanning classical, contemporary, jazz, and popular music to maintain engagement and motivation.
Performance preparation is an essential part of my methodology. I guide students in memorization techniques, stage presence, and strategies to overcome performance anxiety. I also encourage improvisation, composition, and creative exploration to develop both technical proficiency and artistic expression.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s pace, level, and aspirations. I strive to create a supportive and inspiring environment that fosters curiosity, dedication, and a love of music. My ultimate goal is to help students play with confidence, creativity, and joy while cultivating a lifelong appreciation for piano.
