About Celeste
An experienced teacher and performing musician, I am available to teach new students online and in the Hackney/East London area: from complete beginners upwards, children and adults.
My qualifications include
○ MSt Musicology, with Distinction (University of Oxford)
○ MPhil Education (University of Cambridge)
○ BA Hons. Music & French, First Class (University of Sheffield)
○ Conservatoire de Caen - Jazz studies
○ Extensive international teaching experience, in the UK and France
○ My own education includes teaching from some of the best players in the UK, France and New York.
I have an enhanced DBS check, for working with children and vulnerable adults.
I have set rates, however am keen for lessons to be accessible and inclusive; please do get in touch if my fees are genuinely prohibitive for you.

I have a fun and holistic approach to teaching, and lessons are developed around each student's aims and interests. Trumpet lessons can incorporate music theory, and a great awareness of the physical aspects of brass playing. I am a creative musician, and my teaching reflects this, embracing elements of various genres: from jazz to classical, klezmer to free improvisation.
I learned with some of the best classical, jazz and klezmer players around (in the UK, France and New York), and bring their wonderful teachings into my own methodology.
I accept all students - from complete beginners to experienced players, children to adults. I really enjoy working with beginners, and am eager to encourage people to have fun with the trumpet!
