About Brandon
I started trumpet as a 5th grader, and was completely self-taught until I went to college for music. I have always had a deep connection with music, and trumpet became the main avenue to express myself. I believe that in order to make progress on an instrument, you have to be committed to consistently spending time playing it. However, as I learned the hard way, professional guidance is equally important to make sure you are growing in a healthy way. I had to take the long road to work through my bad habits as a player, and it is my goal as a teacher to make the path for my students easier than it was for me.

When you get a lesson with me, you are entering a safe space where learning thrives the most. I make sure that I have an accurate understanding of where your abilities are, and make a path from the preset to your future goals. A common lesson will include some time spent on fundamentals (how to produce sound, improve technique, range, etc.), an engaging piece of music (all styles are welcome), and some routine building to maximize results. I have experience teaching all ages, so all are welcome to reach out. My number one priority as a teacher is for you to have fun playing trumpet and see noticeable improvement over time. I believe a positive and open minded atmosphere is critical to healthy progress, and I always want the best for my students.
