About Aayesha
Who I Am I am a dedicated healthcare professional with a unique combination of expertise as both a registered dialysis nurse and a medical doctor. With active registrations with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the General Medical Council (GMC), I bring a wealth of clinical experience and academic knowledge to my teaching. As a dialysis nurse, I have developed a strong foundation in patient care, understanding complex health conditions, and applying medical knowledge in real-world settings. My journey as a medical doctor further deepens my understanding of clinical medicine, diagnosis, and patient management, making me well-equipped to teach a wide range of medical and biological sciences. I also have extensive experience tutoring students, ranging from high school learners to medical graduates preparing for the PLAB exams, many of whom have passed with flying colours under my guidance. I take pride in tailoring my teaching to the needs of each student, and I am happy to provide references from past students who have benefitted from my lessons and achieved their goals. Having personally navigated the PLAB exams and the GMC registration process, I understand the challenges students face and how to overcome them. This blend of nursing and medical experience allows me to connect with learners from diverse backgrounds, offering a comprehensive approach to teaching medicine, anatomy, biology, and PLAB preparation. My mission is to use my knowledge and clinical insights to empower students, helping them achieve their academic and professional aspirations.

My lessons are designed to be interactive, engaging, and tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. Whether you are a high school student exploring biology, a university student diving into anatomy and medicine, or a graduate preparing for the PLAB exams, I will ensure that the content is accessible, relevant, and focused on your goals. Teaching Techniques • Concept-Based Learning: I emphasise understanding the ‘why’ and ‘how’ behind complex topics, helping students build a solid foundation. • Interactive Sessions: Lessons include diagrams, case studies, clinical scenarios, and quizzes to keep the sessions dynamic and practical. • Customised Approach: I adapt my teaching style based on your strengths, weaknesses, and learning preferences. • Exam-Focused Preparation: For students preparing for PLAB 1/2, my lessons will include time management strategies, mock exams, and tips for succeeding in the GMC registration process. Lesson Duration and Structure • Length: Lessons typically last 1-2 hours, depending on the student’s preferences and attention span. • Structure: Each session starts with a brief review of previous content, followed by the day’s topic, interactive problem-solving, and a Q&A session to clarify doubts. My Experience and How It Can Benefit You As a dialysis nurse with NMC registration and a medical doctor with GMC registration, I bring both clinical expertise and academic insight to my teaching. Having personally gone through the PLAB process, I understand the challenges and can guide you effectively to success. My real-world experience ensures you gain practical knowledge alongside theoretical concepts. Who I Teach • High School Students: For those studying biology or anatomy and aspiring to enter medical or healthcare fields. • University Students: Up to 2nd year of medical school, including preclinical and early clinical years. • PLAB Candidates: Comprehensive guidance for PLAB 1 and 2 preparation, tailored for doctors seeking GMC registration. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and helping students excel in their academic and professional journeys. Whether you’re looking to improve your grades, deepen your understanding, or achieve GMC registration, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
