About Luke
Right now, I'm preparing for medical school while working as an EMT. I was mostly homeschooled, went to public highschool, and recently graduated from UCI for Biological Sciences. I understand at-home learning and love teaching excellent students trying to get ahead, prepare for AP exams, or even peers needing extra help for college courses. However, I also want to be an encourager and help struggling students survive the woes of learning and disciplined living. It can be done!

My teaching method is primarily based on the path of least resistance. I hardly did any homework at home growing up because I would complete everything in class and find ways to stay ahead of the game. Of course, a bad teacher can throw a wrench in the process, so learning good habits to be an independent learner is something I love to demonstrate.
Specifically, I approach teaching with direct instruction, active recall techniques, and minimal note-taking. I'm a firm believer in getting work done to maximize free time, and sometimes a tutor can help by expediting the learning process. Overcoming the "this is too hard--I give up" mentality is possible! For many concepts, textbooks often miss the mark of making things approachable and easy to understand. I primarily work on showing students how to make sense of things, create new habits, so they can ultimately be independent learners who do not need a tutor.
