About Alexa
Hi! I’m Alexa, I’m 21 and currently in my fourth year at UCL. I’ve always loved learning, particularly languages and literature, and I’m someone who enjoys sharing that enthusiasm with others. Outside of university, I love travelling, meeting new people and discovering different cultures. I’m trilingual in English, French and Spanish and am currently learning Italian, so language learning has become a big part of my life.
I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable and supported. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and taking the time they need to properly understand something. I tailor my lessons to each student’s individual needs and goals, whether that’s improving essay technique, preparing for exams, strengthening language skills or simply becoming more confident in the subject.
I also rowed for five years and was made captain of my rowing club, which taught me a lot about communication, leadership and motivating others. I love travelling and recently completed a mini European tour, visiting Budapest, Lisbon and Valencia.
I’m really looking forward to getting to know my future students, understanding what they want to achieve and helping them make real progress towards their goals!

Hi! I'm offering tutoring in English Literature and French, GCSE through A-level, plus reading and literacy support for younger children.
A little about me: I'm currently at UCL (ranked 8th in the world in the QS rankings), with an A* in French and an A in English Lit at A-level, and 8s and 9s across the board at GCSE (for which I received an academic scholarship). I have also volunteered at a primary school teaching reading and literacy, so I am very confident I can help with improving learning skills, even from a young age.
Regarding English literature, at A-level I studied The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath, Hamlet, The Duchess of Malfi and Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, which I continued to study at university, so those are texts I know inside out, but I'm just as happy working on any other text a student is studying, not only the ones on that list.
I can help with essays, exam technique, close reading, thematic studying, unseen poetry and prose, comparing texts, and building a quotation bank that actually makes revision easier. If you're aiming for top A-level grades, I can bring in some literary theory too, to give your essays more depth.
For younger students, I can help build confidence and skills in reading and literacy, a really useful foundation for the years ahead.
For French: I've just come back from a year living in France (C1 now), so I can help with grammar, essay writing, and getting your spoken French sounding natural.
I've mentored before and genuinely enjoy this, whatever you're stuck on, we build the lessons around you.
