About Carlotta
Teaching Italian is a great opportunity for me to use my skills and share my knowledge. I am passionate about it because it gives me the chance to share something about my background while helping people with what they need. Indeed, seeing the results of my work, with the students improving their language skills and becoming more confident in understanding, speaking and writing Italian is a great satisfaction for me. Therefore, my primary concern is that my students manage to learn all they need while working in an environment that feels safe and offers space for growth. As I previously stated, I want to understand my students' priorities and tailor the style, length and structuring of the lecture around it: flexibility, clarity and attention to feedback are in my opinion crucial to the positive outcome of the lesson. Studying languages for more than 5 years and teaching them to students of various ages has given me the experience necessary to know which methods and types of exercises are effective, and I will use them in order to create steady improvement and to allow my students to learn something new with each lesson.

The structuring of the classes can be tailored to the needs of each student, with a focus on the topic and areas they want to explore or need to improve most. Some of the parts that my lessons can include are grammar exercises, vocabulary expansion, conversation, translation, and comprehension exercises. Lessons are usually one hour long, but this can also change depending on the needs of the student. Flexibility is important to me as it allows the student to have the best experience possible and learn as much as they can. Since my lessons are for students of all ages and levels, the length and structuring will vary to make the class entertaining and useful for everyone. Italian is my native language, as I was born in Italy and lived there for 18 years before starting university. I went to one of the most prestigious high schools in Italy, where I studied both Italian and three foreign languages (English, Spanish and German) and graduated with the maximum grade possible. I have also tutored secondary school and sixth form students in both Italian and other languages and subjects, with great results every time.
