About Courtney
I am an educator and facilitator driven by a simple but powerful belief: that teaching is one of the most beautiful ways we can learn to care for our neighbors. My journey began in Zimbabwe, where I saw firsthand how a community’s true strength lies in a 'currency of gratitude.' I witnessed neighborhoods thrive through mutual support and shared knowledge, even in the face of immense struggle.
This taught me that education isn't just about passing a test; it’s about equipping individuals with the tools to live dignified lives and contribute meaningfully to the world around them. In a divided landscape, I see the classroom (physical or digital) as a space to bridge gaps and foster a culture of service and proactivity.
With over a decade of experience in communication and international teaching, I bring a 'strategic edge' to my lessons, but always with a focus on mentorship. I use a Scaffolded Mastery approach to build confidence in my students, whether they are high schoolers navigating a complex curriculum or young beginners starting their English journey. For me, success is seeing a student not only achieve academic excellence but also develop the empathy and critical thinking skills needed to become the next generation of leaders and thinkers for South Africa.

I act as a strategic navigator for senior students and a patient foundational guide for beginners. My methodology follows a high-impact "Scaffolded Mastery" model: I demonstrate the logic, we solve together, and you execute independently. Whether I am equipping a student to decode complex syllabus requirements or helping a beginner find their voice in a new language, I focus on the "how" of learning to ensure long-term independence.
Language & Proficiency Lessons are conducted in English, focusing on high-standard academic communication for seniors and clear, accessible language acquisition for beginners.
The Lesson Experience Expect an objective-driven session tailored to your level. For senior students, we dive deep into curriculum modules and exam techniques. For youngsters and beginners, we focus on building a strong linguistic foundation through interactive engagement and confidence-building exercises. Every lesson concludes with a clear roadmap for your continued progress.
Target Audience I offer specialized support for two distinct groups:
Grade 10–12 and University students looking to bridge the gap between "getting by" and "achieving excellence."
Beginners and younger learners who are starting their English language journey and need a patient, encouraging environment to build their skills.
