About Kaila
A little about me, I'm a Japanese-American Hawaii-born and Indiana-raised queer theater artist! I have a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Drama with a focus in Acting from Indiana University of Bloomington. I am a recipient of the Suzanne M. Collins and Charles A. Pryor Scholarship which is awarded to students for their work both on stage and in the classroom. Throughout middle and high school I competed in the Indiana State School Music Association evaluation for Solo Vocal Performance and received a Gold ranking every year. I'm a strong believer in collaboration in every endeavor and it would be my honor to aid you on your singing and acting journey!

I teach everyone, from beginners who have never sung before to professionals who just need a little touch-up or feedback! I like to approach teaching by focusing on what my students' goals are and what brings them joy through the art! I like to make things feel approachable and encourage my students to not be afraid of any mistakes. Only through mistakes can we learn!
